J.D. Davis had 4 hits and 4 RBI at Comerica Park as the Hollywood Marines
embarrassed the Holland Heffalumps by the lopsided score of 16 to 3.
Davis had a big evening at the plate. He doubled in the 2nd inning, lifted
one out of the park for a two run home run in the 4th inning, stroked a
single scoring a run in the 6th inning and ripped a one-base hit resulting in
a run in the 7th inning. Hollywood kept the scorekeepers busy in the 2nd
inning which saw them plate 7 runs on 4 hits. The Hollywood offense was
great, scoring in 7 of the 9 innings.
The victory was credited to Lance Lynn(9-5) who went 6 innings, allowing 3
runs. Scott Barlow was credited with his 3rd save. Felix Pena(3-3) absorbed
the loss. His ERA ballooned from 5.90 to 7.40 as he allowed 8 runs in 1 and
2/3 innings.
