Left fielder Randal Grichuk smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Streator
Reds beat the Oakland Athletics by a score of 9 to 8.
The Oakland fans didn't appreciate the big day Grichuk had. He cracked a solo
homerun in the 4th inning, belted a three-run homer in the 6th inning and
lined a base-hit in the 8th inning. Oakland had a chance to come back in the
9th but they came up short.
Jose Urena(3-2) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Urena
got help from Alec Mills who was credited with his 4th save. The losing
pitcher was Eduardo Rodriguez(10-9). He served up 3 gopher balls in 5 and
1/3 innings.
Joe Ingraffia was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really
hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is
easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely
get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
