Gary Sanchez smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Rogers Centre where the
Palatine Cubs beat the Burbank Tigers in 10 innings 6 to 5.
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings. Finally, Palatine prevailed in
the 10th inning. Brandon Crawford drew a walk. Two outs later Kyle
Schwarber stepped in and he drew a walk. Justus Sheffield then threw a pitch
that the catcher muffed. Adam Jones came up and he was walked intentionally
to load the bases. Cesar Hernandez came up to bat and banged out a single
making Palatine the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration.
Palatine and Burbank each finished the night with 10 hits.
Roberto Osuna(6-4) went 2 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Sheffield(0-2)
was the losing pitcher in relief. Palatine now has a record of 62-72. With
the loss, Burbank has a record of 5-5 lately, 57-77 overall.
