George Springer smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Hollywood Marines
bested the Oakland Athletics 5 to 3 at Wrigley Field.
Springer was a source of great heartache for the Oakland faithful all evening.
He just kept pounding out hits! He tripled in the 1st inning, clubbed a
two-run home run in the 3rd inning, cleared the fences for a two-run home run
in the 7th inning and slapped a single in the 9th inning. Oakland was
out-hit by Hollywood, 13 hits to 10.
Darren O'Day(6-2) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the victory. Liam Hendriks
gained credit for his 11th save. Merrill Kelly(6-1) absorbed the loss.
