Paul Goldschmidt had 3 base hits and 5 RBI as the Gotham Gold Gloves defeated
the Chicago WC White Caps in 11 innings 11 to 10 at Edsel Stadium.
Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Gotham came out on
top in the 11th inning. After two were out Amed Rosario was walked
intentionally. Brad Miller followed next and he drew a walk to load the
bases. Goldschmidt then drew a walk giving Gotham the win and sending the
home town fans into a frenzy. This was the kind of game that many fans love
as the lead changed hands 5 times.
The win went to Heath Hembree(4-6) who allowed 2 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
The losing pitcher was Gregory Soto(1-2) in relief. He was a hard-luck loser
as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
