Hollywood scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After an
out was recorded, Pete Alonso drew a walk. Reese McGuire struck out, unable
to help the rally. Isaac Paredes then singled. Bellinger came up and he
stroked a single giving Hollywood the victory as 40,491 happy fans celebrated
wildly. Illinois was out-hit by Hollywood, 13 hits to 9.
The win went to Dennis Santana(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Brant
Hurter(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and
surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk.
Michael Busch had 4 hits and 6 RBI but it wasn't enough for Illinois.
