Brandon Woodruff reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts as the Columbus Crowd
beat the struggling Borculo Bumble Bees by a score of 8 to 0.
Woodruff(1-0) was indeed brilliant as he hand-cuffed the Borculo offense. He
didn't give up much, just 2 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings. Columbus had 11
hits for the game and Borculo had 2.
Tomoyuki Sugano(0-2) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 4
innings of work. When asked about his strikeout total for the game, Woodruff
offered, 'The fan's really got into it. It is fun to see them tally up the
strikeout totals up there in the stands. Fortunately, I kept them busy
tonight - of course, it would be all for naught without the 'W'.'
