In a dramatic ending, the Aarlington Aardvarks staged a comeback win over the
Woodfield Roadkyll by the count of 7 to 4.
Aarlington erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 3 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Shohei Ohtani
who made the crowd happy when he hit a 'grand salami' to the delight of his
teammates. Both teams ended up with 8 hits on the night.
The win was credited to Kyle Leahy(2-0) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
Bennett Sousa(1-1) suffered the loss in relief. Steve Linke was all smiles
after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but
our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on.
What a sweet win!'
