First baseman Josh Naylor lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI as
the Tampico Stogies defeated the Nimrod Numnuts by the score of 2 to 1 at
Busch Stadium.
Tampico came up with 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. The key offensive
moment was provided by Naylor who made the crowd come alive when he blasted a
two-run home run. Aroldis Chapman was perfect in relief and got the save,
his 7th.
Joey Cantillo(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 5 and 1/3 innings.
Brad Lord(1-1) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 6 innings allowing only 4
hits and no walks.
Tampico continued their winnings ways improving their record to a division
leading 14-5. They are 9-1 in their last ten games. With this loss, Nimrod
has a 6-4 record of late, 11-8 overall.
